Wheel of Fortune is a British television game show created by Merv Griffin. Contestants compete to solve word puzzles, similar to those used in Hangman, to win cash and prizes. The title refers to the show's giant carnival wheel that contestants spin throughout the course of the game to determine their cash and/or prizes. The programme aired between 19 July 1988 and 21 December 2001 and was produced by Scottish Television for the ITV network and mostly follows the same general format from the original version of the programme from the United States.

They must spin a wheel marked with prizes or penalties for chances to win money by guessing the missing letters. The winner is the one who can guess the complete answer to the hidden puzzle.

Three contestants, all between 11 and 14 years old, competed in this children's version of "Wheel of Fortune." Host Sidoni was aided by Cyber Lucy, a real-time, computer-animated "cyberhostess." The contestant chosen to start the round selects a category to a mystery word puzzle. While most of the rules were similar to the grown-up version, contestants played for points rather than cash. The wheel also contained a prize space and various penalty spaces "Loser," similar to "Lose-a-Turn;" and "The Creature," which worked just like the Bankrupt space. In addition, landing on a "Physical Stunt" space allowed the contestant to select up to three consonants by completing a stunt (examples might include using a catapult to feed plastic cubes to a dinosaur and throwing rings onto a pole from varying distances). The original version of Wheel was a network daytime series that ran on NBC from January 6, 1975, to June 30, 1989, and subsequently aired on CBS from July 17, 1989, to January 11, 1991; it returned to NBC on January 14, 1991, and was cancelled that year, ending on September 20, 1991.
